What is Intellectual Property?

Intellectual property  is a term referring to a number of various distinct types of creations of the mind for which property rights are recognised in the corresponding fields of law. Under intellectual property law, owners are granted certain rights to a variety of intangible assets, such as musical, literary, and artistic works, discoveries and inventions, and words, phrases, symbols, and designs. Some common types of intellectual property include copyrights, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights in some countries.

This subject is a very complex area of law and we would once again recommend that you seek advice from a solicitor who specialises in intellectual property if you are AT ALL unsure.
